Pip and Linda "Escape" in 2nd and 8th
Published by Mike Maxson June 4th, 2007 in Triathlon
Pip Talyor and Linda Gallo competed in the world famous Escape From Alcatraz triathlon this past Sunday. The Team MotionBased women charged the challenging conditions and finished in 2nd and 8th, Pip and Linda respectively.
The race began an hour earlier than usual, due to favorable tide and current conditions. The events swim director, MotionBased athlete Gary Emich, makes that call with 498 "Escapes" under his cap. To verify his decision, Gary did practice swims on Friday and Saturday. After uploading and analyzing on MotionBased, he was confident with the start time.
In typical form, Linda was the first Pro Female to touch land, with Pip close behind in third. After a quick run to their bikes, they were off peddling. Luckily, neither were involved in an accident that sent two cyclists to the hospital. Pip got off the bike with the third best Female Pro time, and finished with a strong run to secure a spot on the podium.
Congratulations Pip and Linda, and all Alcatraz racers!!!
