Some races tear you down, others bring your spirits up. The 12 Mile Super D in Ashland, OR is best described as pure racing nirvana. Yeah, it hurts in places, but suffering makes the good stuff even better.
The course is comparable to Downieville only in length, but in every other way it is a gentler forum for all-out Super-D racing. Tacky, banked turns, loamy duff, and Jedi tree dodging encourage a smooth flow. You can find a rhythm here pretty easily. In most cases it is necessary to remind yourself that you are still racing!

A quick breakdown of the results: WTB swept the men's podium with Mark Weir @ 35:53, Nathan Riddle in 36:17, and Curtis Beavers in 37:33. Team MotionBased/Jamis rider Olivier Bock took 7th in 39:50.
On the women's side: Heidi Faller (WebCyclery) won in 45:20 followed by Anka Martin (IronHorse) in 45:28 and Lea Julson in 46:51.
